Welcome to Oakhurst Australian Shepherds

 

Our name and heritage go back to the original family home place, which was first established in the 1800’s in Frederick, Maryland. Today Oakhurst is a show and companion kennel located at the foothill of Sugarloaf Mountain in Montgomery County Maryland.

Our interest in the Australian Shepherd began with the purchase of our first dog named Boomer. We began training and competing in obedience and agility and soon added dogs to our family for the conformation ring.

We have one to two litters per year, with careful consideration being given to our breeding program. We focus on producing the best possible genetic health, temperament and overall soundness in our puppies. Our dogs are AKC and ASCA registered, cleared of hip dysplasia (OFA) and eye defects (CERF).

We feel that it is very important to us that all our Australian Shepherds are placed in the very best homes. All puppies are sold with full health clearances under contract with a life-long commitment from us.
